This is "The Colonel" He's a very sweet boy. He'll be a year old in March. He's looking for a new home because I'm switching to all Buff Orpingtons. He's not a show bird or anything, but proven fertile. I live in Hardinsburg, Ky.

We're at Day 12 of our incubation and I'm still not sure if we're having chicks or stinky eggs? I don't smell any bad ones, yet. Should I be smelling something by now if there is a bad one? I did take out two that I'm sure are bad. The contents seem to be all mixed together and swirly, with very dark striations all throughout. I've candled till I can't see straight but I still am not 100% sure that we have chicks yet. How on earth can you tell with these brown shells?! Wednesday is lockdown and I'll be removing the egg turner and crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. Sadly I'll be out of town when they are due to hatch so hubby will get to have the experience all by himself. Maybe he'll be kind and video it for me! LOL
