of the silvers? or coronations?

The SOP standard for sussex is cock 9 lb, hen 7 lbs, cockerel 7 1/2 lbs & pullet 6 lbs. I will weigh a few of mine this weekend to see how they compare, but they sure look big!

Although I am not breeding them for a Sussex program, I got three Split Coronation Sussex today (basically Light Sussex) from a local BYCer. They're absolutely HUGE!!!! I've got some very big Marans, but wow, these hens just dwarf them in comparison!

I'm using my girls for a meat bird project, but also, I got an oddity - A rumpless Split Coronation pullet. She I'm going to cross with some of my Araucanas to get bigger size on them as well as to get a better columbian color.

Here's the two bigger hens, one is in fact broody, too. Apologies for the muddy scenery - It is the Pacific Northwest and springtime after all

The rumpless one was already in bed when I got these photos. I'll get some of her later. She's truly neat!
