Things you never said until you had chickens.......

oh, yes, I call chicks "babies" and "Tweens" or "adolescents.". If there are a bunch of one age which tend to hang together, they may get their own appellation such as "Gang of Five" or "Musketeers," or the like.

Right now I have four adolescent "Hooligans" in the flock. They were hatched by my House Silkie so they still think they should roost in the house. Yup, I have to chase Hooligans out of the house on a regular basis.

Said to my son who professes he is starving and wants dinner: "I will start our dinner as soon as I get the girls their dinner."

Yep, first chickens then humans at my house

Same here! The chickens eat before we do.
That happens here too! I'll be cutting veggies and fruits for the kids' lunch, and then suddenly I'm chopping the scraps, raiding the fridge for anything else they might like, and taking them out to the chickens, where I'll stay for a few minutes to watch them snack, and then finally I'll head back in to finish feeding my human kids ;)
