Do you eat chicken from the store? I do not eat meat, but I would more likely eat a chicken that I raised, that saw sunlight and pecked for worms and had a good life then something under cellophane in the grocery store. So if you eat chicken, then eat the roosters. All I can say and feel is sadness. No one wants boys. I can't cull them! Maybe a bachelor pen?

And this is all part of the responsibility you take on when you choose to hatch eggs. You have to do something with the males, and there are really only three options. Kill and eat, give away to potentially be someone else's dinner, or build them their own setup out of sight of any females. It's not being mean. That's just reality.
