Turkeys and Chickens

I just received a group of chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese. I was told that you should never keep chickens and turkeys together. My question is how important is this? If the chicks got vaccinated and they are on medicated feed does that make it okay? They are together now out of necessity, but will be separated at some point down the road.

Lots of us have them togather. Blackhead is the issue but it is only in some areas.
