I have two hens both sitting on eggs. Each one is in a nesting box in the main coop with three other laying chickens,
I'm wondering when or if I should move them into a separate coop. Will both hens be OK in an enclosed coop with the chicks?

I've read the other threads and many have moved the eggs & broody hens prior to the hatch. I haven't done this yet and wonder if I should. It has been so interesting watching the other hens squeeze in and lay eggs in the nesting boxes with the broody hens. The hens just scoot the new eggs under them. Then each day I go in and take out the newly laid eggs.
BTW - we don't have a rooster. I went to a farm & picked up some fertilized eggs & stuck them under my broody hen.

Any help is appreciated. I have five chickens. Buff, GLW (both broody), EE, mottled Java & a barred rock. The two broody hens are sitting on lavender orphington eggs & black or blue maran eggs. I hope they hatch.

Thanks for any help.
