Ari looked to the later arrivals, wondering who they were. She was waiting for them to all get here so they could get this started. This year under the water was something she had wanted to do since she had heard about it. Her thoughts turned inward as she waited with her brother by her side.

A woman walked up to the group of biologists and smiled at them. "It is time to go. Walk over to the edge of the dock where the submarine is and get in. After a few minutes we will close the entrance and one of you will be able to drive the submarine deeper into the water." She instructed calmly.
"There are multiple manuals of how to drive the submarine, and it's very simple. Plus, I'm sure some of you have at least read about how to drive one properly." She said.

Joseph felt really nervous now. He tried his best to stay completely calm as he got up to go to the submarine.
 
Alex smiled and nodded "I have driven a submarine before" He said then helped his sister to the submarine to get inside. He had studied up on everything he thought he might need for this adventure, though a lot he already knew from learning about closer to the surface adventures.
Ari was really excited to be going and eagerly got into the machine that would take them under the sea.

Joseph could see she was shaking. "Settle down, there's nothing in the sea that would be big enough to mess with the submarine." He reassured her as he stepped into the submarine. It was actually pretty nice, there was a small pile of folded blankets and boxes of freeze dried food, along with boxes of bottled water and many books to read.
There were small beds made of metal that were on the wall, and they were covered in blankets so they could be comfortable. None of this stuff was fancy but it was nicer than what Joseph expected.
 
Ari got in and looked around the place also before taking her seat. "This is going to be so exciting" She said aloud happily
Alex was checking out the driver's place and waiting to see if anyone else wanted to volunteer before he would take the place and get them started on this journey.

Joseph felt a little too sick to drive. He was very excited yet nervous, but he knew he should just relax because there was no going back. He hoped they'd see some amazing creatures, because he brought a water-proof camera and a notebook so he could take pictures and draw them.
 
After everyone was in and settled, Alex took the wheel, so to speak, starting the submarine and preparing to dive. "Hope everyone is ready for this, because we are off" He said and glanced back to them then focused on diving.
 
Joseph got out a book and started reading. Now he was mostly excited, what new species would they find? He couldn't wait for them to get deeper into the water, because the deeper they got the more sea creatures there would be.
 
Jane sat down in a corner (do submarines have corners? XD) to wait and watch. She was excited and grateful to be on this journey, but terrified as well. There was talk of giant sea monsters, but she was sure that was just rumor and nothing to be feared.

Joseph looked out of a little window and saw only a few fish swimming around. The rest of the water was nearly pitch black.
"This place is pretty nice, which is great since we'll be here for a year." Joseph told Jane conversationally.
