So this vent issue does not look infected or have possible disease. Just constipatedMaking a wet mash out of feed helps digestion, a lot of chicks struggle to poop at first.
Just a bit o colic, nothing to worry about. So this vent issue does not look infected or have possible disease. Just constipated
Give your chick some wet feed and coconut oil as suggested.Hello, have chicks about 1week old from tractor supply looked like pasty butt. Cleaned out 2 different times. now it looks like red and inflammation and her vent looks like its pulsing and maybe problems pooping. Need help on what to do.
Give your chick some wet feed and coconut oil as suggested.
When you clean the vent, be very gentle. After you've cleaned her, dry well (use a hair dryer if needed) then apply an anti-inflammatory cream or a dab of coconut oil on the vent.
It is swollen slightly but the ointment/oil can help with inflammation.
How are you brooding her? What's the temperature in the brooder on the cool and warm side?
Photos of your brooder setup would be good.
Thanks!
