Just for fun if no rooster restrictions, get a game rooster. An American Game. They are very pretty, in general better around people than any other breed, and will radically change dynamic involving the pesky Coopers hawk. Mine will flat out take on a females Coopers hawk making so I have no losses and I free-range all the time and see Coopers hunt my property for song birds year round.
