my little girl was so excited this morning to find a golf ball kicked out of the new nesting box that was just mounted yesterday and a nice little brown egg in its place. hopefully now the other five will follow suit soon

finally three days later there was another egg in the nest. i thought the first egg was small and kind of wierdly shaped(oval like a racetrack not like an egg), the second egg was perfectly shaped but even smaller than the first. i'm assuming this is fairly normal and just a sign she's on her way to regularity.

Yes, the first egg has been larger then the next are smaller. We had 4 eggs yesterday out of 6 hens. Hoping today is better but when I came in for lunch none had laid this morning, so guess we will see.
