Warning, graphic photo - My chicken was attacked, wounded and not sure how this will turn out.

We lost our small dog today that was 11 years old and very special to my Son who has a brain tumor and other health problems. I can relate so much to this. Pets become family and when we lose them it's the same as losing a loved one to some people. We did love him and he felt that. We were blessed to have him as long as we did. So sorry for your loss of your Chickens. I have Ducks that I love so I totally get it.
I'm so sorry for your loss😢

Thank you all for the support and replies.

My initial assessment was incorrect and she does have what I think is a punctured lung. I can now hear air through the hole at the same cadence as the air I can hear her breathing through her mouth.

I missed it initially because it’s under feathers and kinda under the very top of her wing.

I’ve put a sterile pad over the puncture for now. I also made her an electrolyte drink as per Google and she’s taken about 15 ml via dropper over the last couple hours.

She’s still here for now although I am losing hope but I’ll keep trying.

I know it may sound ridiculous, it’s just a chicken but we’ve hand raised them as backyard pets and they mean a lot to us.

If you have some plain gauze saturate it with vaseline and place directly over the area that you hear the air escaping.

It doesn't sound rediculous. If you and others hand raised them and you care about them, it's not ridiclous. My chickens mean more to me than my foster parents lol. I still can't get over a baby chick that was attacked, Loaf.

Sorry about your dog.

We had to put ours down this past August.

I am sorry for the loss, did it die or did you put it down. I think we take pets losses harder because they never judge you they just love and love you until the end. They don't argue or fight with you, they just want to make you happy. We can all learn a lot from pets and how to treat others.
It ended up with chronic kidney failure and was doing really bad so we had to put it down.
