Water-wiggler temp not coming up since I put eggs in?

I put 21 eggs into my homemade forced-air 'bator 7 hours ago. Since then, though the air temp in the bator has come up to 101, the temp inside the wiggler (measured with 2 different digital probe thermometers in the same wiggler) has not come up above 96F. Can anybody explain this? I know I can't count the first day of incubation as part of the 21 days.

Check your air temps high and low. The water wiggler, egg, or whatever you use is going to be an average of the air temps. In other words if your air temps are bouncing between 92* and 100* the the internal temp(water wiggler, egg, etc) is going to be 96*.

Air temps don't matter ignore them. Adjust temps till wiggler is where you want it. My wiggler is running 99.5 to 100.9 but air temp is 104. I have hatched many of chicks. Don't worry about air temps.
