it looks like an egg went backwards in the track and was fused to a second egg. If it had gone further back it would have been an egg in an egg.

Only one chicken laying soft eggs? Do you have more chickens that lay normal?

I have 6 medium chickens and 4 bantam hens and 1 quail hen and only the one medium lays this deformed egg...

Please keep a close eye on that quail hen, I have known chickens kill quail, they aren't really big enough to live with chickens. Also she would probably like some quail friends.

She is a bantam. She is a Quail Black Bearded Belgium D'Andres. So she is a quail bantam is what they called her. basically a mini bantam. I have Coturnix quail as well and they do have friends.

Good good, I have never heard of one but I know nothing about bantam chickens! Well done for knowing your stuff I am a quail forum-er so I get a little touchy tehe

They are at the bottom of the pecking order but yes they are cute and will hopefully start laying soon so I can hatch them! I am starting to collect eggs for a quail hatch as well. They are some odd patterned eggs but I love em.
