What age can chicks start eating treats?

my chicks were a few days old when some sort of bug buzzed past the brooder. All heads shot up and followed the noise. Those little Velociraptors know that bugs are yummie, never having seen one.

I've had to give grit to chicks who hadn't been out of the shipping box for 10 minutes because they spotted ants or small moths in the brooder (I brood outdoors), and started snapping them up).

Thank you. I'm going to have to replace him this year since he's now breeding his granddaughters, but I do think he's beautiful.

I would let them in a pen outside supervised but its only 40 degrees rn in MN.

Your chicks are 2 months old? They should easily be able to handle 40 degree days.
