What age do Polish hens begin laying?

Mine started at about 6 mos (maybe seven--I've forgotten) and they leay very well. I've been surprised how well mine lay, but periodically they just stop for no apparent reason and seem to take a month off.

Just the post I was looking for. My Polish is now 6 months old. I only have her & a Faverolle the same age. I've been getting 1-2 eggs/day for a couple of weeks now and was worred that I might be missing her eggs. However, I see that she's not likely to lay for a few more months. (she doesn't squat like my other girl now) Bleh! If my kids weren't so attached to her, because she was a gift from DH, she'd be given away!

it has been six months for my hens and not 1 egg yet

perhaps b/c i feed them grains w/ out hormones? organic diet + slower growth?

this is the week i got 4 lil white eggs from my polish. 2 definetley i know came from my 2 golden polish

i know because i found them hiding and there they were an egg. so proud of my lil ladies

does a rooster having sex with the hens stimulate egg production?
