The wife came home with some new chicks 4 light sussex which all look like cocks to me and the the ones in the pic the grey mottled one any one know the breed, it as a "pompom" on the head any help and advise welcome and sex if possible too

It would definitely help if you could get some clearer pictures of their head. That way I can get a better view of their combs and wattles. And another full body picture would be good to look for any pointed saddle feathers.

From those 2 photos you have I think I see 2 definite cockerels so far but it's hard to tell from the photo.

Do you have any idea how old they are?

Think around 6 to 7 weak not 100% sure im convinced all the sussex and the brown ones are cockerals just not sure what the greys are
 
The gender of the Sussex is hard to figure out for me, but the other chicken might be a cream Legbar. Where did your wife get the chicks.
