What is the best book to identify chicks?

I'm a hatch-a-holic. My family has banned me from getting feed during chick days at the local feed store. Lol Its ok though because I'd rather watch them hatch and see what pretty colors I get and what breeds etc. Plus what I don't keep I sell so others can enjoy them as well! I have quite a few people in my area contact me starting in February for chicks! Last time I got feed store chicks they were sick and only a couple survived. So glad I quarantine my birds! Couldn't imagine what I would have done had I lost all my flock! I love my birds too much to lose them!

Yep. I have not brought any home from the feed store, but I swear they are peeping my name as I walk by.

All mine have come from hatches or other sources.

Sadly this little chick passed last night. Don't know why but it did develop pasty butt the night before which I cleaned away carefully. Hopefully the next batch will make it!

Murray mcmurray ended up sending me new eggs and had a couple hatch. Unfortunately their website is not very good for identifying chicks. One feather footed and one rarest of the rare have hatched so far. From what I've been able to figure out from the breeds they list you can get the feather footed one is either a black cochin or a black langshan. This chick is HUGE!!
Feather footed one.

The next chick is smaller but does NOT have feathered feet. From the list the hatchery said it could be I think it's either a Dominique or a Crevecoeurs. It's not completely dry and fluffy yet so I can't tell if it has a top hat or not yet.

Any input would be awesome!
