Dog.

I do believe I am seeing at least one claw mark on the first paw print. If you look at the bottom toe, there is a small indentation in front (to the left) just along side the next toe in line.

The big back pad also looks canine rather than feline. The back edge of the large back pad should be flat/convex or have a 3 point scalloped edge facing outward in a cat, whereas the dog typically has a back edge that is arched inward, which this top print is displaying.

I go for dogs. Cat prints are as wide as they are long and don't have claw marks.

even without the pawprint evidence, this sounds like a dog attack - multiple birds dead, and not eaten. Sorry for your losses.

I say dog too cause of the print and that it killed multiple birds but just left them. Good luck!

One thing that is almost and I say almost a dead giveaway is that in soft ground if the print of this size has no claw indentations at the tips of the pads its a big kitty. Big enough that I would be calling the local Wildlife biologists. If you want to save a track like that to show them cover with a coffee can and weight it down.
