What killed my hen? Another hen? Discovered at dusk. No sign of struggle, no feathers scattered, no visible damage to body except a little blood on back of neck. A large red-tail hawk was seen sitting on the fence earlier and was chased away by my neighbor. A cat has been seen in the yard. Raccoons are around but only after dark. An older larger Buff Orpington hen does bully and mount the two youngest hens Lavender Orpington and the dead one is the smaller of those two. The back yard where chickens range by day is fenced. Chickens (6) are securely cooped every night at dark.
