It's not a matter of which one is better, it's a matter of which one is better for you? What kind of room do you have? Does mud annoy you? What kind of housing do you have available, etc...

What do you want them for? Yard ornaments, egg laying, meat for the table, slug or bug eating? What do you find aesthetically pleasing to the eye & ear? Do raucous quacks annoy you? Do you find the happy go luck antics of ducks amusing? I could keep on with the questions but you get the idea. . .

It all depends on you, I love ducks and I love chickens. I prefer Muscovie ducks though, and would be very happy with just them.

It all depends on your setup. And what you are looking for.

I have both and love them equally. Some of my chickens and both of my ducks are very friendly. I can cuddle both.

its not about chicken and duck. It is about the breed characteristics. Muscovies and pekins are awesome pets, but a mandarin not so much. Same with chickens ,i had a sebright they are always a little more spazzy just like polish. Other breeds are tamer and more relaxed by nature.

that is an opinion in my opinion chickens cuase they are cleaner but it is an opinion... get both
