What next? These animals scare me..

Opp's typed the wrong thing didn't mean Bloody Sunday but you got my point. Now can anyone prove we went to Afghanistan for business reasons ?

Didn't you say "That assumes we were there to get bin Laden and the evidence is that the real reason was commercial oil interests". So where is the evidence ?

'We' means NATO troops from several countries, yes?

By the way, for those who seem to think that Afghanistan has oil reserves, my understanding is that it doesn't. UNOCOL wanted to bring oil and/or gas across the country.

Hemet, I gave you one link previously which quoted a UNOCOL official as saying a while ago that they wouldn't build the pipeline until there was a single government in Afganistan. Several years later, foreign military are still trying to create that. I know that you didn't like the source website, despite apparently believing what you read on a Christian Scientist website, but here's another very interesting link. Note the relationships that it reveals:

Opium has been mentioned. The Taliban suppressed the cultivation of poppies but reports have suggested that it's now on the up. As I have said previously, Karzai and his Northern Alliance are no better than their old friends the Taliban.

Hem, if you're going to knock down every source I quote, there's not much point in trying to help you, is there, dear chap?

China is involved in prospecting for oil and gas with several of its neighbours and near neighbours. They have just entered into a joint venture in Thailand. You see, China is developing it's interests abroad through commercial ventures and aid, without using military force or trying to impose its political system. I'm not particularly happy to see a country, supported by Western trade despite its policies on human rights, gain such influence. On the other hand, the strong Chinese influence in Thailand, as an example that I know about, has done no harm and a great deal of good.

Perhaps the West could learn from China before that country sweeps the board.

Here's how to treat the worlds' regimes, who believe that we are the big, mean bully on the block...Simply remove all of our military and all humanitarian aid, until the Medevial mysogynists learn to treat women and children as fellow human beings, and not some kind of chattel to be used and abused.

Within weeks, we would have them on their knees, giving us anything we ask.....And yes, that also applies to all the socialistic countries of the EU.

You don't seem to have a huge grasp on Islam, do you? I'm not trying to start a fight or anything. I'm just saying western media isn't really to be trusted when speaking of religion, or many other countries. It's propaganda crap.

I'm just going to leave it at this, and say nothing more.

Good idea to leave it there. Some trolls prefer to offend and antagonise people rather than discuss issues with an open mind. The result is that some potentially interesting threads are closed because of those people.

And you are still saying we are in Afghanistan for commercial ventures but you have no proof. But more then 10 years later we have none if we were after commercial ventures wouldn't we at least try to get some ?

Now have I ever said we should be nation building ? Or imposing a political system ? I have said we shouldn't. But don't tell me we went there for commercial oil interests without proof because the fact say you are wrong.

Did you look up that guy whose story you posted ?
some of his stories are

In 2003 he said that he had uncovered information linking the September 11 attacks to the government of Saudi Arabia as well as to Bush administration.[19] In 2005, he wrote than an unidentified former CIA agent claimed that the USS Cole was actually hit by a Popeye cruise missile launched from an Israeli Dolphin-class submarine.[20]
In 2005 he said that the pro-Israel lobby, AIPAC, had pressured American politicians to stay away from protests against the Iraq War.

Later that year he criticized the movie industry for indirectly causing suffering in Africa by promoting diamonds in movies like Breakfast At Tiffany's and Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend. He included Leonardo DiCaprio, whose film Blood Diamond dealt with the issue, as well as Russell Simmons who is selling a line of "nonconflict diamonds." Madsen said about them, "It's a p.r. campaign. They should be saying, 'Don't buy diamonds at all.'"[23]
In a 2008 ArabNews article, Madsen is quoted as suggesting that the criminal prosecution of New York State governor Eliot Spitzer was partly due to the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad.[24]
On June 9, 2008 he reported that unnamed "GOP dirty tricks operatives" had found a Kenyan birth certificate registering the birth of Barack Obama, Jr. on August 4, 1961. "However, the registration is a common practice in African countries whose citizens abroad have families with foreign nationals."[25] This birth certificate was a cornerstone of the "Kenyan Born" subset of the birther conspiracy theories, and Madsen's article was cited in a Washington state petition challenging Obama's eligibility to serve.[26]
On April 25, 2009, Madsen reported that some unidentified UN World Health Organization officials and scientists believed the 2009 new H1N1 strain of swine flu virus appeared to be the product of U.S. military sponsored gene splicing, as opposed to natural processes.[27][28] While it can not be ruled out that the virus was created in a research laboratory or vaccine factory, the most plausable explanation is that the virus is the result of modern farming techniques. New Scientist magazine cited the example of a H1N2 influenza pandemic in the 1990s that only affected pigs in the United Kingdom. This subtype of the H1N2 was also a reassortment (mix) of swine, human and avian strains.[29]
In July 2009, Madsen released a report saying there was a Q Group within the National Security Agency tasked with concealing US government involvement in 9/11.[30][verification needed][unreliable source?][dead link]
In 2010, Madsen reported in the Pakistan Daily that unnamed sources suggested that the company formerly known as Blackwater, had been conducting false-flag operations in Pakistan that were blamed on the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan. [31]

But he always says he has proof but never shows any. So anything you read from this guy should be taken with a grain of salt.

An Israeli sub hit the Cole now that ones rich.

Honor killings, child brides, female cirumcision, societal isolation...... and the burkas. That, right there, should be enough to rile the estrogen of any self respecting militant feminist.
