What would happen, Orpington addition!

Let me start by saying I know nothing about genetics. My family was given a blue splash orpington rooster. He's a really nice almost show quality bird, but all I have are buff orpington hens. What would I get if I crossed him with the buff orpington hens?

There's charts around here that explain how coloring works, I should bookmark those for later next time I see one.
I think that the girl chicks would be white or black, and the boy chicks would be buff. But I don't know, let me find the chart.

You would get blue hens with a lot of buff leakage. They are pretty though. I have a splash/buff cross if you want to see what they would look like.

I would love to see her!!! One reason I wanted to ask was because I have the opposite pairing in Cochins!

Is the rooster blue or splash? Those are separate varieties.

He is a splash Orpington. In my house we call them blue splash for some reason.

That means he carries blue. Look up blue, black splash genetics. I have blue Andalusians, but most of my girls are black.

I agree with @FuzzyCritters. You would get a blue chicken with about half their body covered in buff patterning/leakage.
