What would you do with roosters?

We're going to get quail in a couple months, and we're going to hatch a clutch of 6 eggs. We're hoping to have mostly hens (because we're raising for eggs) with like 1 rooster, but what would happen if we got mostly roosters? what would we do with them?

By the time you know which ones are males, they are probably bigger than quail (which some people also eat.) Some kinds of chickens will never get very big (bantams are the obvious example), while some others will keep growing until they reach an impressive size, with most breeds being somewhere in between.

The "best" age to butcher is a matter of how big you want them, how long you are willing to provide food & care for them, and when it fits into your schedule.

I think there was some confusion. Rooster refers to a male chicken over the age of 1. Male quail are referred to as cocks or male quail.

I mean, bones and all would only be a bite. We processed ours at 6 weeks
