When do you Spring clean your Coop?

Just curious when you all spring clean your chicken coops. I live in upstate New York and our springs are often a mix of warm and cold/wet stretches. I'm itching to get out there to clean but might wait until warmer stretches. Coop isn't too bad right now anyways.

I clean once a year in mid to late April.

I clean once a year in July or thereabouts - dry enough that my wood chips are as dry as they'll be before I shovel them in, but not so hot that I'll sweat in misery since I "suit up" for the job.

I will typically rake the top layer 2-4 times a year. And a full scoop out 1-2 times a year. Just as needed and weather permitting.

That sounds about right for here too. Maybe stretch it into May.

Just did mine two days ago. With five waterfowl, two turkeys, and seven chickens it was getting to be a bit much.

I usually scoop out my deep bedding in late March so I can have it sit on the garden for a month or two before planting. Around the same time I dig out a bunch of compost from the deep litter in the run and put it on my garden. Then I pour in some woodchips and the cycle begins again
