There’s two sellers on EBay I’m in contact with and these are their breeders for the clutch sale. They’ve both done well in shows, which is great because I’m looking to see which of these best fits show standard. One is a bit more extreme than the other. They all more or less have the standard shape down though.

This is group one:

Their females have a much better pose than the females in group two.

Group two:

That last black has a really cool color too. My concern is that group one’s seramas are too extreme to do well? I’m unfamiliar with this area of the breed and showing it. Only have experience with showing Americans.

I’m a bit late to the party but if you haven’t bought birds yet, I may be able to help.

The first thing I’d do is get off eBay and get on Facebook. A lot of seramas through eBay are major scams. Most breeders who ship will have pages where they sell young and adult birds. No reputable breeder will ship chicks. The only breeder I’m aware of that does hatching eggs well is Donnie Gallagher/ DG Seramas.

Right now is a good time to buy. They’re a hard breed to hatch, but there’s a lot of 4-6 month pairs available right now.

The other thing to thing about is whether you want Malaysian type or traditional type. Out of your photo sets that you shared, the birds are not really comparable. The first set is Malaysian, so more extreme. The second is traditional. Malaysian and Traditional are judged separately. I’d start with traditional if you’ve never had seramas. They’re a VERY difficult breed.

If you want reputable seramas, City Chicks at Reflections Farm (Charlotte Lupton), Perfectly Poultry (Becky Schulz), and DG Seramas (Donnie Gallagher) all have birds available. I haven’t heard complaints about any of them.
