White leg horn fine yesterday, today she is dying

How old is she? Can you try to get her drinking some fluids with sugar water or electrolytes? She could have wry neck or torticolis. I would try giving her 400 IU of vitamin E and 1/4 tablet of B complex tablet daily. She may have suffered a head or neck injury, but a chicken virus could also be possible. Dehydration could also be a problem.

Sorry I should have been clear as to why the ducks gender matters here.

If the duck is a drake and has free access to the chicken hens an attempt to mate with the chicken can be fatal as they are not compatible in that department.

Drakes have a penis roosters do not.

Since the chicken was fine yesterday and suddenly seriously compromised it's a possibility there has been injury.
I missed that they also have a duck, good question

Hey guys, so yesterday all of our birds, where happy and active, 1 white pekin duck, 3 white leg horns, 1 half and half white leg horn half black astralop, and 2 full black astalops, ages very but they are all around 1.5 to 2 years old.

The chicken in question is rebel, a year and a half old white leg horn, yesterday she was fine and sassy, today (here in wet and cold jacksonville fl). I just went to check on them and she was laying down, very lethargic, still moving but barely, neck was very floppy,, very cold, so we brought her inside, gave her a warm bath, now she is wrapped in a towel with a cloth covered heating pad under her on medium heat. Keeping her eyes closed mostly but opens them when we move her around.

No noticeable swelling any where including her eyes, so visible signs of attack from the other hens or duck, no discoloration or swelling at the base of her feathers, just trying to get her warmed up and dry right now.

We are very concerned for both her and the rest of our small flock and have no idea where to start in terms of figuring out what it is and how to treat it.

Their feed is nutrinia nature wise layer feed with a sprinkle of flock party meal worms as a special treat,

Thank you for any and all help

-Mike
Mike this sounds like what a neighbor of mine went thru. Hers were fine like yours then 3 of them got real sick and passed and a 4th one also had the same exact symptoms but she was I think 3-4 year old leghorn. . She believes it was botulism. She just sent me this

She did the treatment and her one bird recovered after almost a week of literally liking like she was dead. I hope this helps.

Duck is a hen, what kind of electrolytes do you suggest ? As far as we know she layed yesterday, and I carefully checked her with a gloved hand and felt nothing as far as a stuck egg is concerned.

We've been having predatory issues and so the chickens and the duck have not left the co-op in over 3 weeks, Plus they have five 1 gallon bowls of water inside the coop checked daily in addition to the duck pond that is inside the coop which is just a large kiddie pool.

Welcome To BYC

I would work on hydration/getting fluids into her and giving Vitamin Therapy as suggested.
If you are not certain that she laid an egg yesterday, then I'd also give her Extra Calcium for 3 days. You can find Calcium Citrate with D3 at Walmart, CVS, etc. Just pop the pill into her beak and let her swallow, same as you would the vitamins.
