Whiting True Blue: Hen or Rooster?

I think you might have a Silverudd's Blue there, instead of a Whiting True Blue.

Whiting True Blue are supposed to have pea combs. That bird appears to have a single comb (which is right for Silverudd's Blue). Either one could be that splash color, and either one should lay blue eggs.

I agree with the other posters that it is female.
Ahhhhhh you’re absolutely right. I also got a (younger) whiting true blue that day. She looked like a chipmunk :)

From what I can find, the Silverudd's Blues should only come in black, blue, or splash.
The Whiting True Blues can come in many colors (including black, blue, splash, and quite a few other possibilities.)

So the one pullet being splash doesn't tell us much about what breed she is. I was mostly going by the comb being different.
