Three little eggs!

Our chicks look to be the same age, 21 weeks old as of today. We have Ameraucanas (Easter Eggers from Ideal Hatchery in Texas), RIR's, Buff Orpingtons, White Leghorns and Barred Rocks. We got the first egg on Saturday (20+ weeks) from a RIR, the next day we got two eggs from Buff Orpingtons, one from an Ameraucana and a two from RIR's. Yesterday one each from the same three breeds and today none. We are shocked that the White Leghorns weren't first.

we had a white leghorn last year, she was the 2nd to last to start laying. The EE was very last.

That's an egg-citing feeling isn't it!
When I got my first egg, I wanted to call up everyone to tell them but I knew they wouldn't be as excited as I was!

Same! I have:
3EEs
6 Red sex links
2 Barred rocks (Roosters)

I'm thinking my red sex links will be first to lay because they seem to be bigger then my EEs.

Our Isa Brown named Chicka has the redest comb, has been wandering far from the rest of the flock and extremely vocal. I think she will be our first layer ♡

Our RIR I call RED I think will be second. She loves to cuddle on my lap

Pete laid her first egg! 18 1/2 weeks old!

Chicka is checking out the makeshift laying box moving around the golf balls I put in there. She DID NOT like the dog checking out the commotion. This is a good sign right?

I would think so. The day of my first eggs I noticed squatting.that same day I had eggs.
