They will go in for the next boxes once they are established in that is where they should lay. The lack of daylight can set back the onset of laying. I often have pullets that were raised by broodies that reach laying age in the shortest days. 1 just started laying yesterday. There is hope of pullets starting to lay when the days are short, they just might be a bit older than spring pullets at the start of lay. I live in NWPA
