Why is my chickens neck so short?

I agree that if that is as far as she can extend her neck then she is deformed. She also appears to have muffs.

Alas, poor little chicken. I tried to defend your poor short little neck, to no avail.

And here I've always just thought barred rock had short necks. Then again, I never did like the barred rocks.
