Our home recently has been found to have some termites. We have been talking with Orkin. They haven't given me all the safety data sheets on what they will be using, but they will also have Sentricon bait stations outside. Our chickens are located in a fenced area roughly 50 feet from the house itself. Does anyone have experience with the impact the chemicals would have, if any? The chickens free range in the fenced area, eating bugs etc.

There's a VERY short list of insecticides that can be used around chickens, and I doubt that Orkin is too concerned or has any idea about this issue. Get those MSDS sheets and read them! If the bugs, rotten little things that they are, will die at your foundation, that's better than if they are likely to be out with the chickens after being poisoned.
Having the house fall apart over termites will not be better!!!

Thanks for the replies. I did get the data sheets. They would like to use Timbor, and Sentricon.

I did call our local extension, and all I got was some generic sheets. Actually tried the neighboring county. They have a poultry specialist who is "going" to call me back. That was days ago.

We too recently discovered the termite infestation in our house. As our chickens live in the farm situated just next to our home, it was a matter of concern. After trying some DIY methods, we decided to consult the termite inspection Roseville professionals to help us out with the situation. Experts have correct knowledge about the use of chemicals in pest control methods.
