Will they lay in this?

Our 4 chickens have yet to lay. They are 20-22 weeks and I have no clue what to expect. I threw together this "nesting box" just now because they seem to have to interest in the one in their house.

Just a thought... get the lids that came with the buckets. Cut the lid so that it forms a lip for the bucket.. You can cut the whole lid about 1/4 of the way up one side forming a "D" shape (not too tall), then glue it to the bucket. This forms a lip so that the nesting material doen't go everywhere.

You may also want to secure the bucket to the box so that it doesn't try to roll around.
