Whenever we get some as gifts for Easter,,, After they pass blooming, I bury them in flower garden. They keep coming up year after year. I have different varieties of lilies. I'm in Zone 5A. The new zoning chart says we are in 6. I still disagree with them.

My greenhouse is new. I planted my first seeds in January and cut my first harvest yesterday. Had a nice salad with lunch. The greenhouse is a real game changer. Normally I wouldn't have anything out of the garden till June.

One of the first things I did when I landed here was build my first greenhouse. Unfortunately I haven't done much with it yet, because it keeps getting infested with chicks somehow.

That problem should be resolved now that my second coop is up. It has a built-in brooder.

@CCsGarden how do you keep your chickens from eating your sunflowers so that they can grow this large? I am just in love with your sunflowers and would love to try to grow large ones, but I’ve read that chickens just love eating them. Do they bother your large ones?

This was yesterday:

It's all melting now. Should be gone in another day or so.

I'll spend some time in the green house today, filling more pots with potting soil and watering them, then leaving them to get nice and warm.

I have 50, plus 8 with kale/spinach that are going out to the garden later this week (I think), and 16 with plants for the bees which will that will take 4-6 weeks to sprout.
