How in the world do you give an oral dose to a chicken? This web site http://www.heavensentranch.com/poultryhealth.htmOrally 1/2cc for standard size, 1/4cc for smaller birds. Repeat dosing again in 10 days.
When dosing with valbazen, pull the wattles down and the mouth will open, then squirt the liquid in the mouth using a syringe without a needle...release the wattles so the bird can swallow. How in the world do you give an oral dose to a chicken? suggests Ivomec injectable that you put in their water. Sounds do-able. I bought some today and will see how well it does.
Well, I guess that would work and then you'd know for sure the chicken is getting the medicine in the correct dose. But it would take two people to do it (correct?) and a lot of work for 50 chickens. It is just me and not sure I could get a neighbor to help with this. I found some of the Valbazen in pellet form, would that work? Again, I realize it is hard to tell how much a chicken is getting, could be not enough, none at all or too much. They do eat out of my hand. I could wrap raw hamburger around it to get them to eat it and that way I would have some idea of how much of the medicine they got down 'em.When dosing with valbazen, pull the wattles down and the mouth will open, then squirt the liquid in the mouth using a syringe without a needle...release the wattles so the bird can swallow.
Ivomec injectable is useless as a wormer in chickens, here 's a link with proof:
