Hey everyone, a friend of mine is asking if I want these bags of hardwood sawdust. It’s from a cabinet company, and I’m unsure what types of wood it’s from other than hardwood. Could it be used in a coop or run? Or would it be better to not and be safe? The 30 gallon bags are being sold for 5 bucks

I think it's best not to use saw dust. It's the dust bit that's the problem. Fine wood chip is okay if it's been dust extracted.

Ok thanks. Yeah they originally offered for the horses and I instantly said no for horses but I wasn’t sure about chickens. That’s why I love BYC, I usually get answers immediately! 😊 thanks
