wound now has maggots

Thanks guys...I will stop using the rubbing alcohol. The wound has been producing a cheesy gunk under the scab. Is this infection? Should I do another course of antibiotics? She is sitting here in our living room on a towel. I gave her a bunch of mealworms in addition to her regular food...I am not going to bandage it so that I can see if more maggots show up.
Yes, that's infection.

Yes. That's what it looks like. The pockets are filling with it
I suspected... that's why I was using the alcohol so much. How do I proceed?

Don't use betadine, use a nolvasan product instead to rinse the wound. Just flushing with warm water is good, and then apply Silvadene, or triple antibiotic ointment if you have that. Make sure that the maggots and fly eggs are all gone, and check her vent area too. Immediately! Gently soak the scab off if there's pus and gunk under it, and then use the ointment. Mary

I just checked her vent and looks normal. No maggots, thank goodness. I don't think I can face that again tonight.
I will get some silvadene tomorrow.
