Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Anyone that needs a laugh, seriously, go to https://www.youtube.com/user/malineka146/videos?pbjreload=10 and dig around. She does pop songs, Disney songs, songs from musicals that everyone's heard of, and other stuff. I'm almost done archive binging (had to stop 'cause my stomach hurts, though...

I'll be the one in the stripey white and purple t-shirt, denim shorts, and long brown ponytail quite possibly hanging a lot at the Brother Tom's Fitness booth (Brother Tom being Mr. Paperlady). Probably just today, though.

Well, maybe, maybe not. Caffeine is a diuretic, after all...

Yes, I know why Phil couldn't eat, but I can't be the only one that immediately thought of the Mogwai-->Gremlin transformation:gig Work's been work, which is better than mind-numbingly boring, but still. Heard from someone transported to us from Putnam what the jail there is like, and it sounds...

:hugs Shaw I know that, in my job, boring is good, but Saturday was 10 years long... The weird thing is, Friday wasn't much busier, but went by faster than normal. When we were househunting, the former owner did tell us that there were irises (which I love), but of course it was well after...

Wow, now I know why everyone thought that was water across the highway from the house in the listing! In real life, it's obviously a fallow field, with the weeds going orange. Heading towards the creek on the property line. The girls are building a dam to try to make a swimming hole. Two...

That was Crescent City, California, during the March 11, 2011 tsunami (I think it says on the video? and my link beneath on that post is to a timeline I wrote that day...) Same here (though no fruit anywhere, that I know of).

Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Crescent City's went off every first Wednesday between little kid recess and our recess... If all tsunami sirens are the same, they sound like this: and last just long enough to freak out anyone that doesn't know that it's a drill. (Video found in one of the conversations hanging off of...

Cat food has higher levels of protein than dog food. I do know it's not good for dogs in the long run, but I don't remember why--whether the protein's so high that it's rough on the kidneys, or different vitamin/mineral needs, or what.

I've been wanting them since Rav used to deliberately post duckling photos to torture those of us that couldn't have 'em:gig

Oh, OK, great to know! I do need to get around to actually going to the local feed stores to check their prices--I go into Cookeville to get dogfood 'cause neither of the feedstores in Gainesboro carry what they eat (I should check hours, too, to see if picking up on the way home from work is...

So, I know what chickens need re: housing. Are there any major differences for ducks? I know that ducks need to be able to dunk their heads to clean their nares, so nipple waterers are out (or, at least, I can't solely have nipple waterers), and medicated feed is out (not that I plan to buy...

I have just determined that the hilly bit behind the house does, in fact, have a big flat area close enough to the fence that we won't have to climb/build freakin' stairs to get to, so yay! I do understand Tom's point that having the poultry closer to the house will let the dogs alert us to any...
