I have been using wood chips that we make with a wood chipper. So far it has worked well.

Finally got my coop built and bought some chickens from a very nice lady in Kona. It looks like I probably have at least one rooster. One EE, two lavender Orpingtons, and two coronation Sussex/light Sussex crosses.

Hi, I have raised several BLRW. They are one of my favorites. I have never had a problem with the roosters being aggressive. I just hatched out 12 chicks.

I have put mailed eggs under a broody before with good success.

Congrats on the move! We are planning to move there soon. Traveling next week to look at houses. I am in the process of selling of the flock I have here as we downsize, and prepare for the move.
