Help! We are incubating eggs and the due date was yesterday. One of the babies chipped a small hole in the egg last night and we saw movement. It has now been 18 plus hours with no peeping of sign that the chick is trying to get out. Is there anything I should or can do?

I looked up "lash" egg and that isn't what this looks like. it looks like a crushed eggshell that is still in tact but it's soft and has nothing in it. Like the texture of a corn husk?

Thank you! This is what we thought but it's scary to watch. Thank you for your input. That eases some of our fears. We love our ducks and would hate for something to happen to them.

She is a mallard. I don't think she was hiding any eggs. We were just in the coop last night and there were no eggs to be found.

I went out to my coop this morning and there were 6 eggs in one nest! My duck usually lays one egg a day but hasn't layed any in a few days. I went out this morning and there were 6! All of our chickens are too young to lay eggs plus they are silkies so the eggs would be little. Is this normal?
