4 1/2 week old Silkie - PLEASE HELP!!! Treating for Cocci.

Oh she is so cute!! :) I'll keep Corid in mind for next time I have a bout of Cocci. I don't think my local feed mill carries it....I'll look at the other feed stores in town. So glad she is doing alright! :)

    Treating leg mites....the best way?

I did try this once....only I think I used petroleum jelly...which is basically the same thing, right? I don't know. xD It did really help with getting the crud out! I've heard of so many different time frames for dipping....but this one makes sense. Dip 2 weeks after to get the...

    Treating leg mites....the best way?

Hey all! I've got some senior hens whose leg mites are getting bad again....I've always done the 'dip legs in oil/kerosene mixture ten days in a row' method. The mites always come back in these senior hens though, and I don't have the time to do the oil ten days in a row so often. Is there...

illness that caused eyes to shut, wheezing and bubbles in corner of eyes? wht the heck?

Did she notice any other symptoms? A year and a half ago, I rescued a flock of 49 birds that I was told were in fine health....turned out they were almost practically neglected. I quarantined them of course, but when I let them out with the rest of the flock, everyone started getting sick...

4 1/2 week old Silkie - PLEASE HELP!!! Treating for Cocci.

Glad to hear your wee ones are getting better! Thought I'd mention- any time I have a disease of any kind running through my flock, I immediately get everyone on a vitamin and electrolyte supplement. It really does do wonders. You can get a powder supplement at feed mills. I always keep...

What to do for eye infections in a rabbit?

Thanks so much for all the input everyone! Remus' eye infection is pretty much gone now, thankfully. I'm almost positive he's mostly blind in his left eye. :/ Love having these suggestions on hand! Thanks again all! :)

What to do for eye infections in a rabbit?

Thanks for the picture! :) They didn't have it at the feed mill....I'll have to go look for it up at Dickey Bub or Orschlen. No TSC close to here. :/ I've been using Vetricyn in his eyes though and it does seem to be helping. Still....I'd like to have some of that Terramycin to keep on hand...

What to do for eye infections in a rabbit?

I just got two German Angora's from a friend last night. I've raised rabbits for 5 years, but I'm completely new to Angora's! I've spent all morning working to make them more comfortable outside, since they're used to living indoors. I brought Remus (the male, albino) inside for a while...

    Geese with Ducks?

I've always kept my 4 Embdens with my ducks. I have a tiny little Call duck that mouths off to my gander all the time. x) For the most part, the geese leave the ducks alone...in my experience. They usually all waddle along in the yard together, but there's no bullying, and I've never seen my...

Who has ever smashed an egg or eggs in your pocket(s)?!?!

This is a great thread! x) I've done the works...left them in my coat pocket for days...smashed them in my pocket when leaning up against something....dropped one and did a belly dive to catch it (it cracked anyway). x) I have a funny story though, where I thought I was going to crack some...

Black racer near the chicken coop!

Not once in ten years have I had to deal with snakes in my coop. We have them around....rat snakes and Timber Rattlers....we see them on the property bu they never come up to the coop. Don't ask me what the secret is- I don't know! xD I would either kill him or relocate him. Even if you fix...
