Mable, one of our chickens, is missing feathers where her tail begins. It has looked the same for months and months. The shafts are still there and she isn't injured. Should we just wait until she molts?

Our coup is ready, but we need straw etc. The chicks are only a few weeks old and I would worry about them outside at night. It would be too cold. We don't have a lamp in the coup. Thanks!
