Some of you may remember that I hatched 6 pekins and 2 mallards in my classroom last fall. They have been living on my parents 40 acre ranch in colorado since december. I came home this weekend for a quick visit before school starts. Since december they lost both mallards and one of the pekin...
Its looking like freezer camp i guess...Anyone have any ideas? I tried to post to craigslist, but it wont verify my phone number... Also, i know ive seen on here several times of the females that have had their heads torn apart due to over breeding. Is wrapping it up a good idea or should it...
Ive posted before about my parents who took my ducklings. There has been an over breeding issue of one of my mallards with my pekin drakes. There are 3 pekin drakes, 2 pekin females, and 2 mallard females. We have two overzealous males. My parents cannot take on anymore ducks. I was hoping...
This story came to me from one of the other teachers in the building...its worth a read.
Something really cute happened in downtown San Antonio this week. Michael R. is an accounting clerk at Frost Bank and works there in a second story office. Several weeks ago, he watched a mother duck...
it is really funny. when my babies were growing up the voices used to remind me of 13 year old boys voices changing...the girls would have really loud honks that craked into a peep...def funny.

ive heard people say put sugar or honey in his water to perk him up. some electrolytes might help too. I would also try some fruits or veggies...if hes been raised in the wild, he may not like the food or even recognize it as food. You could also try some pin head crickets and see if he would...
they can live with chicks if they get along...some people get ducks that pick on their chicks so you may have to brood them separately. Also, the problem keeping chicks and ducklings together is again the mess. Chicks get chilled really easily. Ducks will splash the water everywhere and you...
