I have a hen sitting on eggs. One hatched yesterday afternoon Just wondering if they would hatch at night or wait until the next day. I wouldn't think only one egg would hatch I have two roosters most should be fertile. What y'all think ?

I know a mama hen will protect babies form most animals. But what about a snake. I want to let mama raise the chicks in a separate pen but not sure if she will protect from a snake , which is my only concern what y'all think ?

Lost a silkie to a snake last night

That's a great idea. Was looking for some kind of trap. Have seen two in coop and lost a young silkie last night to a snake. It tried to eat it but the chick must have been too big.

Gues I'm asking do I need to coop him up a couple days or just let him go. Will he run away.

I have 9 hens. I just got a rooster today. Will he stay with them and not run off. I want to let him free range with the hens. He is the only rooster.

i ran into some molded scratch feed. i did not know the heat would cause it to mold. do yall think if i put my next bag in my freezer it will keep it from molding and still be ok to feed the hens.
