My Easter egger is making a high pitch whistle noise. I separated her from the flock. She is not lethargic, she’s eating, nothing coming from eyes or nose, poop is normal but it’s This non stop whistle. I tried vet rx but no change. She’s been this way since last Tuesday. What should I do?
I have 8 baby chicks that are living in the coop with the rest of my laying flock with their mama. They are not venturing into the run and trying to eat the layer food. What organic feed can I give the entire flock? 8 chicks and 10 layers. Thanks!
So my black copper maran started laying a couple months ago. She had a ton of eggs with blood smeered on them at the beginning. Then I noticed she had white stuff on her feathers by her vent so bathed her and blood went away. Then I recently noticed my flock had lice :( I have treated them for 3...
I just noticed today my poor buff orphington has lice by her vent and egg sacks. I feel awful for not noticing sooner. The rest of my flock all have a few by their vent but not nearly as bad as my buff. How do you best treat the flock? Also how do I get rid of the egg sacks- do I give her a bath ?
Thank you @Eggcessive I separated the two chicks that had bloody stool for the past week and now notice one of my chickens in my coop has bloody pop so treating the whole flock with corrid. Is there a reason to separate all of them now or at this point ok for all of them to be in the coop? Only...
One of my chicks I believe has cocci and treating with corrid for 5 days. Still seeing a little blood - any advice ?? Also is it safe to eat eggs from chickens treated with corrid ???
I went out to the coop today and notices feathers everywhere. When you just touch my buff Orphington feathers fall out. What could be wrong? Is this molting ? I also noticed some black poop which I'm assuming is hers...
Would love some advice. I noticed that one of my silkies tonight had a swollen eye. It looked like she couldn't open it. See pic - I also noticed in the past couple week all of my silkies have lost the feathers on their head. I was told it could be molting but could also be that they are getting...
I'm so sorry for the delay. I saw bloody poop last night and then saw your post. There were no bloody poops all day and then tonight again. I attached a picture. They seem totally fine but I am seeing a few random feathers falling out on the shavings. May or may not be normal. Let me know what...
Seeing more bloody poop tonight :( worse than its been. Today was day 7 of corrid. Other than getting the poop tested, what else can I do tomorrow ? Stop the corrid ?
Thank you!! You are so knowledgeable I'm so appreciative! I read in another backyard chicken post it said do 5-7 days of severe outbreak of corrid then 5-7 days of less (a preventative amount) what do you think?
