Thanks! My concern is that my feeder and waterer hang and the new chick can't get to them. I'll probably leave the crate in the coop for 6-8 weeks, so that it can get to food and water.
Well it's been months since I've been on here, but I could use some advice please:) I have 2 broody banty cochin hens that ended up hatching out a chick. My daughter had been getting eggs, but didn't tell me she left one. Once I found it I didn't have the heart to take it. I've never let them...
I feel a case of chicken math about to begin, anyone else?
Picked up 11 Friday, have 19 coming this Friday, and now that they are here I'm feeling the itch.
On a positive note, I did just bring home 4 naked necks, 4 cuckoo marans, and 3 blue cochins. Will be getting more next week! I'll post picks soon.
On a different topic, are there any other western Pa people on this thread?
Wow, I haven't been on the site since early summer, and there are about 12,000 post to read to catch me up with all of you. Needless to say, that won't happen, but I wanted to express my sincere sadness to hear what happen to Wingstone.. I wish I had a way to get my 4 ducks out to you. Good...
Thanks, Fisher and Barbie..... she has been the only chicken fascinated with the pond. I have caught her several times walking the perimeter and perching on the edge. I was hoping to breed the two orloffs next spring, she was quite pretty. She is my avatar pic.
Well I went to clean out the duck pond today, and I found that my only Russian Orloff hen had committed Hari-Kari.....I hope that this wont be a trend among the chickens.
