My 2 oldest Crele pullets (this year's babies) have started laying. I'd have to check the dates, but they're right at 5 months old. Pleasantly surprised, because I didn't expect eggs til Spring.
Most duckwings will have white legs, the exceptions coming to mind being Brassy/Blue Brassy/Quail. Most birds that are blue or black have dark legs. Blue SDW, Blue Reds (Blue BBR) don't. Most reds will have white legs (except gingers).

Show birds are simply bred to the SOP. Biggest difference I notice is in the tails.
Go to a real show and look at the OEGB. The difference between those, and most you'll see here (including many of mine) will be obvious.

I think, per the Standard, any bird 9 months of age or older at the time of showing should be dubbed.
I think OEGB look better dubbed. I've dubbed roosters I didn't like, and fell in love with them afterward.
