My egg production is way down. I have 6 hens and only get one to three eggs a day. Could this be because of worms?

Watch out for snakes. I live in Texas and lost 3 chicks to a rat snake. He could not eat them but killed them and tried to eat them.

This is the feeder I built. All the food they kick out of the dish goes thru the wire and into the bucket. There is no waste. Let me know if you want closer pics

I have a ten month old hen that lays in the nest constantly. Even when I take the eggs out from under her she stays there all day. Last evening I went out with a flashlight and all the girls and the roo were up on the roost but not this hen. Still in the nest. Any advice would be helpful .

This is my feeder which never runs out. Note the feed saving system. All the loose feed goes into the bucket and then is poured back into the tube.

I am feeding the flock raiser crumbles and when they start to lay I will add oysters shells.

I have a new question. One of my five and a half month old hens is pooping a runny caramel colored poop. I think it is my Wheaton Americana. All the rest seem to be normal. This has been going on now for a week or more. Any suggestions?

I went out to the coop last night around 9 to check on my 4.5 week old chicks and they were huddled in a corner. I moved them to their nest but only counted five, should be six. I started looking around with the flashlight and found my chick in the clutches of a snake. The chick was dead and it...

I moved my chicks to the coop which is quite large and has a dirt floor. They spend all day pecking at the ground. Is this okay? Also the nighttime temp is getting down to around 70 and I have no heat lamp in there. Is that okay?
