Rain and chicks...what do I do??? Please help!

Also I'd say they are old enough that they don't need heat anymore. Are they feathered?

You can open the door. They will probably stay in though. They might go out for a bit but come back in if it pours. My chickens don't mind the rain at all. Don't worry.

I got an incubator last year for Christmas. I bought fertilized eggs and hatched those my first go round. I have a rooster now and I have also hatched some eggs from my flock.

Why did i let my broody bantam frizzle hatch in the winter?

I don't have any heat. They are in a dog house inside of a dog kennel. This way the other chickens can see them but can't touch. :)

Why did i let my broody bantam frizzle hatch in the winter?

OMG!! So cute. I just let my leghorn hatch 2 eggs. One of the chicks died. They are outside separated from the rest of the flock. I'm in Ohio and the temps are similar. This is my first time with a broody. I have been worried but they seem to be doing fine.

I think I screwed up!! Broody hen

So I have my first broody, she is a leghorn and still pretty young, on day 13. She was sitting in a nest box that was a little high off the ground. I read it is best to move them to a safe and secure place. So I moved her Sunday night (10/15) I have her in a dog house with a dog kennel around...

Broody Hen: switching nests and leaving eggs

I have my first broody, she is on day 13. I moved her at last night at dark. I wish I would have seen this post before I did that, and moved her during the day. She was still sitting this morning but not on the eggs! UGH!! I gave them back to her but I have no clue how long she was off of them...

There are handle things that you can get that you can unhook when entering through the gate. I found a picture online.

Entering eggs at the county fair

Hi! I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask this?? Anyways, I am considering entering some eggs at our county fair. Just wondering if anyone can give me some advise? I was wondering how many eggs to take and is it best to do all one color or about 4-6 of each color? Also do you just take...

OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

So happy to be back up and running!! I have 2 Swedish Flower roosters, I'd like to rehome one. They are friendly. About 6 months old. I just don't have enough girls for them and I'm sure I have a few more roosters coming up from some chicks I bought at TSC. I'm in the Dayton area.
