Ha! Yes we also have yet to build our coop!! We have some wood and building supplies, and a plan from a book at the library we were just waiting on good weather and fortunately this week we have it!! We have about 2 to 4 weeks tops to complete our coop and run.

Also I iust had an issue with pasty butt... I cleaned her twice a day and put a dish with about 2 tablespoons plain yogurt sprinkled with chick feed once a day. She is all better now

You will definitely need more space I think... Keeping in mind Im also a chicken newbie!! Check into Walmart for a larger tote..40 to 50 gallons. Or do like I did and use an old pack n play/play pen. Our sons old Graco works great for our 6 chickies!!

Well I gave them some plain yogurt once a day for the last couple days, and cleaned her vent twice daily. It lookd like its all cleared up!

Only when I try to pick them up. I spend lots of time sitting next to the brokder observing them with my boys so they hear us talkigg all the time.

My brooder is in our garage and I have a 250 watt heatlamp. The bulb in the heatlamp is sort of clear in the middle and red around the edges. Should I be turning off the light for a time each day, so that they have some darkness? As far as heat goes we have been in the 50's during the day and...
