This is Rosie the Black Copper Maran and she is supposed to be a pullet, but her comb has developed fairly earlier than her three (unrelated) sisters. Rosie is two and a half weeks old and I know she is too young to sex definitively, but we are not allowed to have roosters here and last time we...
Nope! Turns out little Cas was fine and she grew up to be quite the proud hen. I guess it was pasty butt. Here's a picture of my little baby, all happy (and not taken from her butt).
1) They don't usually have problems with raccoons or hawks even
2) Nando was a pretty big boy, picking a fight with him would be stupid
3) There were much smaller, weaker hens that a raccoon or even a coyote would probably want to eat first
4) No "remains"
5) He was there all day and...
I think that it was most definitely an odd situation, but they are a high functioning farm so keeping track of that many birds is difficult. I certainly hope that Hidden Villa now understands that people actually care about the animals they donate. Nando was a great bird. I remember visiting him...
This is quite sad, actually since Nando died a few weeks ago. I gave him to a farm and someone stole him either for meat or cock fighting. I trusted them with my rooster and they sadly did not take very good care of him. It made me very sad, not only because he is either suffering or dead, but...
I really hope you wouldn't harvest them....
1st: they aren't meat birds
2nd: putting them craigslist will most likely make them end up as dinner (especially if one's a roo)
3rd: Go to this links and see if they'll take them :

I would love one of them, but we live near San Fransisco... I really hope they go to a good home and sadly don't know of anyone who needs them down there....
If I could give you any advice, it would be to be patient. Chickens are odd animals and some are more aggressive than others. My current coop has three hens in it and the barred rock (Bobbi) is the alpha. She was extremely aggressive toward our new 3 month old and we tried to introduce them...
Maybe the vent is a little red and that one chicken is more sensitive than the others? It could also be that your chicken learned a new trick on how to really annoy the others! I don't think it's anything serious, but just keep a keen eye on them just in case!
Best of luck!
I gave my roo up for adoption to a local farm who promised to not eat him. I pretty skeptical, but now I visit him every Sunday. The best thing to do would be to research some farm sanctuaries near you, if no one wants him. Hopefully they will be a vegan farm!
I don't know any farms or people...
It looks to me like your chicken has been attacked. Isolate her immediately and make sure she doesn't go into shock. I think the green is from a bruise, but I could be wrong... Do you have other chickens? Are they aggressive?
The best thing for this would be putting some vetericyn on it. If...
